My fellow retards,
Anyone who has travelled somewhere truly foreign has probably run into some challenges when communicating with locals. Unless you stick to the tourist areas like a noob, you’re going to try to find ways to express your questions and interact with people who do not share your tongue.
This is also true when talking to children who do not yet speak, yet anyone with progeny crawling or tottering around the house—they know the younglings can communicate without words. There is plenty of meaningful nuance to be had with grunts, hand gestures or facial expressions.
Humans can be incredible communicators. Extensive vocabulary isn’t even the whole of it. The dance of expression and gesticulation can convey far more than just the beats of a statement or question. It may be a grimace, or a slanted eye, or a curled nose, but sit down at a poker table for a while and see how much someone might give away how they feel in the moment without a word. A savvy card shark can play the people just as well as they play the cards…
“But deacon, what does this have to do with crypto.” Thank you for asking young padawan:
FTX was a massive moment in crypto. It’s bad, and the fallout isn’t over. Counterparties will go bankrupt. Lots of retail will lose money. If Tether were to go under, the industry will be set back massively. It’s hard to underestimate just how bad this could be. It would be bigger than Gox. People in this space for years have been suggesting the pending failure of Tether, but to date Tether has always shut them up and been able to honor withdrawals. They’ve seemingly always had the money, even if it was hard to access at times.
The above dissection of an interview talking about Tether reserves should give you pause. This deacon draws no conclusions except that humans give away insight even when they don’t mean to. Body language is powerful. If you have lots of exposure to Tether, perhaps re-evaluate…
